Hi, Friends.

Tornadoes this week, a cold front and none of my family sleeping. That’s the round-up! If it doesn’t get back to warmer weather soon I truly might panic.

Love note: Last week I attended my best friend’s baby shower and I can’t believe she’s almost due with her first baby. She’s also the chicest pregnant person I’ve ever seen and if I didn’t love her so deeply it would be annoying!

In this issue: Dr. Rachel’s book, Floor It: Using the Pelvic Floor to Power Athletic Performance is already a #1 New Release in Sports Training + available for preorder! You'll meet Kristen Zrakas, a first-time mom putting the soul back into social media with her business Soulcialmate, we’ll chat about sleep and stopping for flowers at the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market!

Morsel: I’m working on something exciting in the background that is launching into the world in a few weeks. I can’t wait to share it with you!

Cheers,
Meg

☕ Fill Your Cup

“Touching grass more god bless it’s simple but important” - M, CLT mom of 1

When the walls are closing in? GTFO.

→ Your turn: submit your “fill your cup” moment from the week.

She thought her business was her purpose. Then she met her daughter.

Charlotte entrepreneur Kristen Zrakas built Soulcialmate on a mission to keep the "soul" in social media — helping entrepreneurs, small business owners, and creators show up online in a way that's genuine, sustainable, and actually fun. For years, her business was her world. It was her first baby, her big purpose, the thing that got her out of bed in the morning.

Her daughter, Ziva, arrived and rewrote everything.

Kristen will be the first to tell you she didn't see it coming. How natural motherhood would feel, how much more it would give her, and how radically it would shift her relationship with the work she loves. "My business taught me hustle and diligence," she says, "but my baby is teaching me to work to live versus living to work."

With a business that has been featured in Forbes, Business Insider, Entrepreneur, AdAge, Bloomberg and more, Kristen’s expertise is evident. Case in point? Her countless client reviews and VidCon speaking engagement. She’s a powerhouse setting a strong example for her daughter.

ICYMI: Your Half Full Horoscope for March Is Here

Rest assured, your cosmic forecast for the month of March is here and it isn’t holding anything back.

Giving Dr. Rachel her Flowers and Buying Her Book!

You know her and you love her!! Our gal, Dr. Rachel’s first book, Floor It: Using the Pelvic Floor to Power Athletic Performance is already a #1 New Release in Sports Training. We are so proud of her!

Floor It is a science-backed, stigma-free guide to pelvic health for athletes of all kinds — and the coaches, trainers, and health professionals who work with them. Most of us train for strength, speed, and endurance, but very few of us have ever been taught to understand or train the pelvic floor. Dr. Rachel is here to change that.

This isn’t just a book about pregnancy or postpartum recovery (though she covers that brilliantly). It goes well beyond Kegels and rehab to show how pelvic floor health directly impacts performance and longevity in sport, for every athlete at every stage.

We cannot wait to read it. Preorder your copy now — it releases October 6, 2026!

🌸 Speaking of Flowers…

Spring has sprung at the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s market! We have it on good authority that our favorite flower farmers are back in action this year wheeling and dealing bouquets with the most gorgeous blooms for a good price.

If anything, it’s a great outing to #GFTOthehouse if you’re in or around CLT!

Why Your Family Isn't Getting Enough Sleep — And What's Making It Harder

Sleep is one of those things we all know matters. And yet, for families with young kids, truly restful nights can feel like a distant memory. New research shows we're not imagining it.

The Numbers Are Striking: Nearly half of U.S. children — 44% — don't consistently get the recommended amount of sleep for their age, and four in five parents say their own sleep suffers when their child sleeps poorly. (National Sleep Foundation, 2026)

We're Overestimating How Much Sleep Our Kids Get: While 83% of parents believed their child was sleeping the right amount, only 14% of children actually met national sleep guidelines (Brown University). Kids were awake far longer in the night than parents realized.

What's at Stake: Adolescents who got less sleep showed less connectivity in the parts of the brain responsible for decision-making and emotional regulation, and were more likely to act out and show poor impulse control. (University of Georgia)

Screens Are a Big Part of the Problem: Blue light from screens delays melatonin onset and disrupts the circadian rhythm. Studies found that 3- to 5-year-olds who used tablets in the evening went to bed later, resisted bedtime more, and slept shorter overall. (UT Health)

What You Can Do Tonight: Start with an honest look at what's actually happening after lights out… if you’re able to make it there. Consistent bedtime routines, regular sleep and wake schedules even on weekends, physical activity during the day, limited screens before bed, and a comfortable sleep environment are the most evidence-backed shifts you can make; they tend to ripple through the whole family. (Brown University)

And Then There's This…

The AI tools increasingly woven into family life have to be powered somewhere. According to NBC News, Elon Musk's xAI installed 27 gas turbines at a long-dormant Mississippi power plant to power its AI data centers, and neighbors say they roar like jet engines day and night. No one is sleeping. The Southern Environmental Law Center says the turbines release hazardous chemicals including formaldehyde, linked to respiratory issues — and residents say the fumes are making it hard to breathe.(Futurism)
